For Teachers, By Teachers
We're educators who saw a need for better engagement and built the solution we wished we had.
Rachel Vargas
Mathematics Specialist & Educator
As a 5-12 certified mathematics teacher with a Master's of Arts in Mathematics, Rachel brings a robust 7 years of experience in public education, teaching 7th & 8th grade mathematics, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. Her journey across public and private sectors, including serving as a WeThrive Learning Mathematics Specialist Coach, has given her a unique perspective on diverse learning needs—especially for students with ADHD and language processing challenges.
Rachel is deeply committed to equity in education. Her work with underprivileged backgrounds, ESL students, and the Migrant Education Program drives the inclusive design of Clase Arena. When she's not reimagining classroom management, she's likely crocheting, baking, or practicing her Spanish, bringing a well-rounded and creative perspective to everything she builds.
Israel Vargas
Technology Advocate & Lead Developer
With a Bachelor's in Computer Information Technology, Israel has dedicated over a decade to empowering students in grades K-12. His time as an instructor has led him to believe that language barriers or prior academic struggles are not limitations to success; rather, it is the level of respect within the classroom and the collective behavior of the group that defines true learning.
Witnessing the challenges and burnout his own wife faced in her teaching career due to inconsistent discipline and lack of accountability tools drove Israel to action. He realized that without a medium to measure and manage classroom dynamics, even the most dedicated teachers struggle. This passion to support educators and simplify management is how the vision for Clase Arena became a reality.
Our Community’s First Mission
Clase Arena is a labor of love for the profession we call home. Created by a married couple who is invested in public education, we aren't interested in being another corporate entity looking for a quick exit. We are here to support our fellow teachers because we've been in your shoes—handling the redirections, the burnout, and the joy of a classroom that finally "clicks."
